To erase the effect of a childhood trauma, you would have to erase much more than the memory of that trauma. You would also have to change the memories of all of the thousands of critical moments (which) followed (that) were affected by (that) initial trauma

여기서 which 와 that의 사용이 너무 궁금합니다... 도대체 문법적으로 어떻게 쓰인거죠? That이 관계대명사인지 아니면 그냥 대명사인지.. 고수분들 도움부탁드립니다.. ㅠㅠ

저기서 which followed랑 were affected by가 that trauma를 공유하고 있는 구조입니다. which는 주격관계대명사로 쓰였는데요. 처음에 보시면 followed뒤에 목적어가 없죠. 즉 that initial trauma가 목적어가 되는 겁니다. 따라서 critical moments가 that initial trauma 후의 일이다. 라는 것을 의미합니다.
그리고 2번째 that 역시 주격관계대명사인데요.  critical moments가 that initial trauma의 영향을 받는다는 말인 것 같네요.
3번째 that은 지시대명사로서 '그' initial trauma 다시 말해 앞의 trauma를 받고 있는 것 같습니다.
