Although this kind of excess is characteristic of our time, it remains true that the simpler our lives,the richer our experience and the deeper our sense of well-being. However, simplicity __________________. Simplicity does not mean doing away with modern comforts and conveniences. While a simple life is rewarding, creative, and nourishing to the spirit, a life of austerity is choked by deprivation and want. The simple life is free of demands on your time and finance that devour your resources without enriching your life. Gandhi said, "Aslong as you derive inner help and comfort from anyhing, you should keep it. If you were to give it up out of a stern sense of duty, you would continue to want it back, and that unsatisfied want would make trouble for you."
