Albert Einstein 

 the one who discovered the essence of the universe

 Known for the equation E=mc2, Albert Einstein is a theoretical physicist who opened up new vistas of the modern physics by discovering the theory of relativity. He was born in Germany, 1879. In his childhood, he was one of the most mathematically talented students in Germany. He studied integral calculus by himself in 12 years old and wrote thesis about State of the Aether at the age of 15. However, his great ability about mathematics didn’t help him get the jobs related to it. His earnest social life started in the Patent and Trademark Office. After the work, he enjoyed his study about physics in the library. This precious time became a driving force of his accomplishments in the future. And after his announcement about the special theory of relativity, his life of physician started to set in.

 Then, what makes Einstein so special? Though there are many accomplishments that he had made, they aren’t simply limited to the field of the physics but to the field of politics too. Today, I will speak about three major achievements Einstein had made.

 First one is about the theory of relativity. The theory of relativity has a deep relationship with the flow of time. In other words, to fully understand the concept of relativity, we must think of a deep space where a Beethoven’s beat machine is constantly tick-tocking. Close your eyes. Think of a deep space where there is nothing but a ball and you. The ball’s getting faster, faster, and faster. How can we know whether that ball is moving or not? There’s nothing to compare its movements to. In other words, speed itself is not an absolute quantity but just a relative connection between two objects. Because this was a theory refuting the concept of Newton squarely, many people at that time didn't accept his idea. However, as  new evidences about Einstein's theory started to be discovered, his thought about the relativeness of velocity is now settled as an well-known established theory.

 Second is about the discovery of Photoelectric effect. Before Einstein's hypothesis about the concept of photon, light was considered as a wave just like a sound. However, in 1905, after conducting the experiment that there's no way but to explain light as a particle, Einstein announced his thesis about an duplicity of light. In other words, light is a special object possessing both the features of particles and waves. This theory became a theoretical basis of quantum mechanics which is a field forming the front line of modern physics. However, Einstein himself didn't like the idea of quantum mechanics that much. He thought that in universe, it is always possible to predict whether an object exists and where it exists. The quantum mechanics ,which describe location as a possibility, didn't favor him that much. His hostility about it is also described in his saying: God does not throw dice.

 Third one is about his endeavor to stop war. In the middle of the 20th century, when he became a well known physician, the world war two broke out. It caused many casualties and took away the lives of millions of people. Shocked by the cruelty of a war, he didn't want his theories to be used as a way to kill people. However, unlike his wish, his theories played a major role in making nuclear bombs. He thought that this was an act damaging his career as a physician. So he engaged in many anti-war protests and tried to appeal the cruelty of war.

 Albert Einstein was a scientist who contributed to the interests of human life by discovering the relativeness of speed and the concept of photon. Furthermore, he endeavored to save the lives of innocent people by evaluating the negative aspects of his theories. With his achievements in modern science, we, human can now live in a more affluent world.
